Air Rifle Mega Store
If you are interested in hunting, target shooting or just want to defend yourself against an intruder, robber or hijacker, you need to make your way to Air Rifle Mega Store in Pomona.
The pellet gun shop is situated at number 81 Pomona Road.
“We offer a hobby and leisure service for air rifle enthusiasts,” said owner Edward Punter.
The air rifle shop was launched in May last year.
Punter pointed out that anybody and everybody is eligible to purchase a pellet gun from their store.
Before a purchase, each customer is given a crash course.
“Everyone gets trained properly on how to handle a pellet gun before they get sold the air rifle. Unlike at a flea-market where it just gets sold to you with no safety instructions.
“We get buyers from all walks of life,” he explained.
Air Rifle Mega Store specialises in PCP air rifles.
“Most PCP air rifles operate at a pressure of 200 bar.”
According to Punter, most of his clients shoot for pest control, as a hobby, or leisurely shooting, and as hunters.
The shop provides repairs on all PCP air rifles and covers a wide range of optics, targets and air cylinders.
They sell targets, pellets, repair kits, knives, scope mounts, scope rings, optics, air cylinders, compressors, thermal image and night vision scopes and anything associated with shooting and hunting.

Vleisfabriek/Meat Factory South Africa
Find top quality at Vleisfabriek
As you step into Vleisfabriek/Meat Factory South Africa, you are greeted by the smell of different spices, seasonings and sauces that add flavour to the butchery’s products which include meat, poultry and game.
The friendly service of the employees is well complemented by the level of hygiene which is taken seriously and seen through the red work uniforms, white aprons, gloves and head covers.
“Vleisfabriek/Meat Factory is a butchery striving for quality products at the best price to our clients. We are purveyors of the finest meat, poultry and game and continue to deal with the highest quality,” said Vleisfabriek/Meat Factory’s Braam Oosthuizen.
“We also specialise in making our own sausages, salami, Suidwes-wors and many more. We offer an unrivalled, old-fashioned service to all our clients.”
Vleisfabriek/Meat Factory’s story began 71 years ago on September 24.
“In 1947, our grandfather, Abraham Hendrik Oosthuizen, opened Klipfontein Butchery in Boksburg,” explained Braam.
“My father, who is also Abraham Hendrik Oosthuizen, joined the business and later I started with my dad. I am also Abraham Hendrik Oosthuizen, but people call me Braam as they did my grandfather and father.
“Before my grandfather passed away there was a time where all three generations were in the business. Three generations later, we are still growing strong and building our business on the cornerstones set by our grandfather. We supply only the best quality meat, at affordable prices, and we are known for our friendliness and excellent customer service.
“The three owners of the business are my father, brother and me, but my father is more of a silent partner and my brother Cornel and I run the business with our sister, Yolande, who is in charge of the admin and finances.”
Seventy-one years later, the butchery boasts three branches.
“We have a branch in Birchleigh, Bredell and one in Naboomspruit. All our game we sell comes from the butchery in Naboomspruit.
“Quality, friendliness and service set us apart from our competitors. But service is very important and I think the cornerstone of retail is service and quality to keep your customers happy.
“We are very careful where we buy our meat. We don’t just call wholesalers and see where we can get meat the cheapest. We buy from the best places and don’t compromise on quality.
“This is more than a job for us. We have a passion for the business and strive to be the best we can.”
The Birchleigh and Bredell branches are open seven days a week and only close for four days a year: Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day (December 26) and January 1.
Monday to Friday: 7.30am to 6pm (all the branches).
Birchleigh: 7am to 4pm on Saturdays and 8am to 1pm on Sundays.
Bredell: 7am to 6pm on Saturdays and 8am to 3pm on Sundays.
Naboomspruit: 7am to 3pm on Saturdays and closed on Sundays.
