Edleen Butchery’s flame-grilled BBQ rump
1kg tender Edleen rump steak
Edleen’s sweet and tangy marinade
Edleen’s secret mixed spice blend
Best method to prepare on braai
Put the rump in a braai dish and sprinkle with lemon juice
Then rub with Edleen’s mixed spice and leave for 30 minutes to an hour
Place the steak on warm fire and seal on both sides before you start to brush with Edleen’s sweet and tangy marinade

Side dish – Edleen Butchery’s
Potato and Chorizo bake
1 bay leaf
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1kg potatoes,thinly sliced
1pkt sliced mushrooms
300g of Edleen’s homemade Chorizo sausage,coarsely chopped
300g cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius
Grease dish with a little butter
Boil the cream, milk, bay leaf, nutmeg, garlic, mushrooms and potatoes in a large sauce pan untl potatoes are just tender
Remove the bay leaf and add the Chorizo sausages to the potatoes and season generously with salt and pepper
Carefully spoon the mixture into the prepared dish
Sprinkle with cheese and place in the oven for 15 minutes or until the top is bubbling
