Birchleigh children’s home to host open day

The Môrester Child and Youth Care Centre in Birchleigh will host an Open Day on June 2 to create awareness about this children’s home.

The home takes care of nine children who have been placed with them by the courts. State funding covers only about 50 per cent of the home’s expenses.

During the open day, from 10am to 2pm, there will be a jumping castle, soup and vetkoek, pancakes, coffee and hot chocolate.

Visitors are requested to bring along non-perishable food items.

The home is situated at 9 Rooiels Street. For more information, call 011 972 8554 or 082 082 0972.
