Kempton Park SAPS detectives request the community to assist them to trace a man wanted for questioning.

“He advertised he was selling his motorcycle for R13 500 on the morning of February 11 and on the very same day around 2pm he received a call from a potential buyer who introduced himself as Godfrey.

“Godfrey claimed to have deposited the full amount into the victim’s account and sent the victim proof of payment from the bank on the same day.”

The buyer allegedly sent someone else named Raymond to fetch the motorcycle from the victim.

“On Monday, the victim went to cash his money only to find he was scammed and that the proof of payment was fake,” said Mtshali.

“The police want to question Raymond in the hope to locate Godfrey and recover the motorcycle.

“Once again, police warn the community to be careful with online purchasing and selling of goods. Be on high alert because there are a lot of scammers who pose as buyers or sellers.”
