A man was arrested for the possession and selling of drugs on Monday morning.

The suspect (29) was apprehended at about 7.30am on Ysterhout Street in Birchleigh, after the Ekurhuleni Metro Police K9 division received information that drug deals were taking place.

According to Capt LP Molotov of Norkem Park SAPS the man was found with dagga weighing 1 741 grams, 42 grams of crystal meth and 11 grams of Methcathinone, better known as CAT.

Three cellphones, two cameras, two scales, which police suspected was used to weigh the drugs, as well as cash were confiscated.

The suspect will face charges of drug possession and drug dealing.

“We thank community members for giving information to law enforcers. Their swift reactions come with successes. Together we can keep our area safe,” Molotov added.

Norkem Park SAPS urge the community to report any criminal activities to the police on 086001011 or 10111.
