WATCH: Norkem Park High ups its matric pass rate by 21%

Koketso Moloya, Kgothatso Mathipa and Queen Maake are elated after receiving their results.

The class of 2017 of Norkem Park High School achieved a 98% pass rate, upping its performance of 77%  it had in 2016.

The proud principal of the school, Hashani Chauke, said only two learners failed and 2017’s results was a big achievement for the school.

“We are very proud to have moved to 98%. This is a goal we have been working towards. We are not there yet but we are extremely happy with what we have achieved,” Chauke said.

An elated matriculant of Norkem Park High, Naome Phalane, who passed with a Bachelor’s Degree exemption, said: “I have been nervously waiting for the results since we finish the exams. During the festive season, my results were all I could think about.

“I am extremely excited for having passed my Grade 12. This means a lot to me and my family; it is the beginning of a new journey.”

She said the 98% that was achieved by the school would help create a better legacy and reputation for the school.

Mureri Ndendedzi, who has passed with diploma exemption, said he would pursue a career in engineering.

“I know I still have a long way to go but my future starts here. I am ready for the world. I am extremely happy that I was able to prove myself. I have done it. My hard work paid off,” Ndendedzi said.
