A man (40), allegedly dealing in dagga from his Voortrekker Road flat, did not bargain with the community.

Concerned residents informed the police about their concerns about the foreign national’s activities.

Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesperson, said drug enforcement unit members, acting on information received from the local community, arrested the man shortly after 7am on Thursday last week.

Dagga valued at about R6 000 was found in his flat, already neatly packed.

“The metro police monitored the suspect for some time before pouncing on him. Just over 340g of dagga valued at R5 760 was uncovered in his flat, as well as cash amounting to R2 481, which is suspected to be proceeds from selling the dagga,” said Kgasago.
