Hijackings: Be alert when driving along these streets

Community of Kempton Park is advised to avoid dark and isolated areas to avoid being hijacked. File image.

KEMPTON Park SAPS’ station commander Brig Samuel Maredi warns the community about the escalation of hijackings in the area.

The streets to be most aware of include Kerk and Commissioner streets, Du Plessis Avenue, Highveld Road and the R25 near the train bridge.

“These areas mentioned are mostly where victims get attacked by criminals while sitting in their vehicles with their companions or pull-off,” said Maredi.

“Hence, we advise motorists to rather stop at well-lit places like petrol stations.”
