Notorious suspect arrested for two North Rand Road assaults

A notorious suspect (29), who allegedly brutally assaulted two of his victims using a sharp instrument in October, was brought to book by Kempton Park detective Const Wildman Choshi on North Rand Road on Wednesday morning.

“It is alleged that the suspect stabbed the first victim on October 5 after an argument at one of the taverns on North Rand Road,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.

“The suspect was stabbed on his lower body and was admitted to hospital and discharged on October 11.”

On the same day the first victim was discharged, the second victim fell prey to the suspect. He also stabbed his second victim on the same street.

“The second victim sustained serious injuries on both his right and left arms,” said Mtshali.

“Choshi has been on the suspect’s trail until one of his informants alerted him to the suspect’s whereabouts on North Rand Road.

“The head of Kempton Park SAPS detectives, Col Lesetja Manewa, commended the investigating officer who spent nights looking for the suspect and thanked the informant for working with the police.”

The suspect was arrested on charges of attempted murder and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

“This shows that when working together more crimes can be solved and that perpetrators of crime can be brought to where they belong, which is in jail,” said Manewa.
