The City of Ekurhuleni’s safe, reliable and cost-effective bus dubbed Harambee is ready to ferry its first load of passengers.

Gauteng Roads and Transport MEC Ishmael Vadi, executive mayor Clr Mzwandile Masina and member of the mayoral committee (MMC) for transport planning and provision Clr Petrus Mabunda, will make the announcement on Friday at a media briefing at Emperors Palace.

The announcement will reveal logistical details of the limited service of the phase 1A operations of the Harambee bus service set to travel between Tembisa and Isando in Kempton Park.

The eight buses, which are 12m long, will carry 36 seated and 54 standing passengers. The buses will also cater for people living with disabilities with wheelchair space inside.
