Top SA pilots in action at Barnstormers

Barnstormers Model Flying Club will host the 2017 fun-fly masters on October 21 and 22.

Pilots from around the country flew in four qualifying rounds and an additional qualifying round at the combined nationals in Klerksdorp.

At least two independent non-flying judges were present throughout the events who timed, counted and recorded all scores on official score sheets. Each round of qualifiers had six events which were only read immediately before the event was flown.

The best scoring pilots from each qualifying round was invited to fly at the fun-fly masters.

There will be three classes, sportsman, masters and veterans. Pilots will fly pre-selected manoeuvres which will only be announced on the day. Some of the manoeuvres might include spot landings, timed flights, short distance landings and take-offs and many more.

The aircraft that will be flown will all be of the fixed wing type. Each aircraft must comply to strict rules.

The public is welcome to come see the event on both days. Food and drinks will be sold but visitors are welcome to bring their own. Braai facilities are available.
