Kgasago said eye witnesses claimed the three hijackers were in a white Ford Figo when hijacking the VW Polo.

“Netstar vehicle tracking personnel tipped off the metro police who reacted swiftly and the hijacked Polo was located in Entshonalang Ext 11 in Tembisa. The Polo was found abandoned and locked,” Kgasago said.

The recovered vehicle was taken to SAPS pound at Van Ryn Deep in Benoni for safekeeping. The suspects are still at large.
