A man, believed to be in his 30s, escaped serious injury early this morning (Friday) when his bakkie crashed into an armco barrier and rolled on the R21 in Kempton Park.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the vehicle in the middle of the road, said Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24.

“The vehicle had been completely crushed on the right side. Upon closer inspection, paramedics discovered the man seated near his vehicle. Assessments showed the man had sustained only minor injuries,” Meiring added.

He was treated for his injuries and transported to a nearby hospital.

Meiring said it was understood that the man lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into the barriers.
