Ex-Kempie gets his doctorate

JACQUES Scholtz obtained his doctorate in Pharmaceutics at the North West University.

A former learner of Hoërskool Kempton Park has completed his doctorate in Pharmaceutics at the North West University (NWU).

Jacques Scholtz (31) completed his thesis in the Prediction of Compressibility of Pharmaceutical Excipients in solid oral dosage forms.

He obtained his BPharm and MSc in pharmaceutics in 2008 and 2010 respectively from NWU. In 2011 he completed his pharmacy community service year and registered as pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council.

In 2012, he returned to the NWU to start with a PhD project in pharmaceutics.

Jacques is the only son of Jacques and Sarita Scholtz. His grandfather, Coen Scholtz, was a known politician in Kempton Park in the 1980s, where he served as mayor, councillor and also on the provincial legislature.

He has been married to Michelle for 18 months and the couple lives in Morningside.
