False rumours of children being abducted from créches in Tembisa while teachers were held at gun point had Tembisans express concern on social media last week.

The rumours hit social networks, leaving concerned parents frustrated and seeking more information from the police.

Tembisa SAPS Ekurhuleni North Cluster communications officer, Capt Manyadza Ralidzhivha, refuted the claims.

“People must not fear anything because there is no such thing. There is no case opened with regard to the claim. It is false news, there was no kidnapping at all,” said Ralidzivha.
